OK, tired of Mustang's beating me

Ok guys, I'm really getting sick of Stock 2000 Mustangs beating me. As a reformed Ford guy, I have to get some payback. I know I could throw a 350 or 383 in my car and smoke them, but they are only running 4.6 liters. I'm planning to build the 305 up to run with the 5.0 Mustangs. Just want to see if it will. Base plans include torquer SR 305 heads, SLP cam, SLP intake runners, and ported plenum and base. I already have the Hooker cat-back and free mods. I'm planning on about a 100 HP nitrous shot as well. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Sounds like your plan should do it. IF you have an auto, build it with a shift kit and a ratchet shifter. How about a gear, like a 3.73? do u have posi? if not, do that too.

Dude don't forget a larger Throttle body and an ajustable fuel pressure regulator to tune that puppy. You migh also consider a ingnition box to retard the timing when that NOS hits. Yea and another thing make sure your compression ratio is not to high that you blow your engoine up the first time you hit that big shot. Also get an arming switch for the inside and a throttle switch to engage the NOS. With your setup you will toast 5.0's ALL DAY. I had about half that stuff done when I had a 305 and I beat my fair share of them, ofcourse I lost my fair share to. Good Luck

A bigger TB is one of the LAST mods you will need to make on a 305. 48mm will flow PLENTY.
Get some 1-5/8" headers from slp on sale (if you still can get that deal), get an afpr and play w/ the pressure, and some good plugs/wires, etc.

You should be able to beat 2000 Mustangs with minimal mods, just do the mods that work. Listed in my sig are my mods and my times. These times are more then enough to beat a 2000 Mustang.

If you go as far as the cylinder heads too, in my opinion you will be very close to the 13s off the bottle.

The World Products heads, SLP cam, full exhaust, 3.42 gears, and intake mods will put you atleast low 14s. Throw the 100 shot on there and drop atleast another second

Yes I have to agree here. I am assuming you have a lot of miles on your 305. As cheap as it is to get a 350 block and knowing that most of your somponents are going to work in a 350 anyways I would think you could get a lot more power by just going to a 350. Unless you are like my brother and really enjoy telling people its a 305 and they can't believe it. I don't want to start thi fight again over which is beeter because I know at any level of modification the 350 will perform better because of larger displacement. THough I Loved my 305 and I was sorry to see it go, I loved the looks I got when I could say its just a 305
