Radious the insides of the walls and take down the wall behind the opening of the twin holes. You can also shave down the ridges between each runner (behind the runner divider) DO NOT TAKE OUT THE WALL BETWEEN THE RUNNERS unless you are adding siamesed runners..
You can also gasket match your runners to the plenum. Put the runner gasket up against the plenum and trace around it. Dont port past the circles. This makes sure everything is even.
Go ahead and get new runner gaskets. Do you already have an AFPR? If you are adding one, make sure you change the internal pieces (spring/diaphram). Advanced auto and parts america has them for $29 compared to $95 dealer price.
Be careful radiousing the walls. Don't go through.
You don't have to make it mirror smooth finish. You want a little turbulence.
