I've got 77K on the stock injectors and it's problaby time to clean them out, but I don't feel like taking them out and spending the money to have them pro cleaned and flowed, so what brand cleaner are you all using these days? Thanks

GM Top Engine Cleaner is the best way to go, but you can't just dump it in your tank. You need to use a 5% solution using a pressureized canister and the fuel tank isolated (TEC will destroy the fuel pump).

That may not be feasible for you, so my second choice is BG fuel cleaner. Check places like NAPA.

You will get the best results if you used the pressure canister and disable the fuel pump, but BG can be put in the tank.

Or if you got some extra money, at 1/2 a tank of regular gas, top it off with another 1/2 tank of CAM 2 104 octane, it'll clean your whole fuel system, valves and pistons all in one shot, sure it's gonna be pricy but if your gonna be racing that night on the street it'll give ya a better edge

There is a product from 3M that taps into the fuel rail to clean the fuel injectors. A friend used it years ago and was very impressed. The only place I have ever seen it is in the Ecklers catalog and if I can't find it locally, I am going to buy it from them.

Well, what you could try is to add about 1/5 gallon of Xylene, the main ingredent in many commercial cleaners/octane boosters.

(If you know what Xylene smells like, you'll immediatly recognize that it is present also in injector cleaner, it's a very distinct smell...).

At least it seems to have worked on my winter beater ('90 VW Golf), but I suggest you get a second opinion before you try it on your car...

You might check out the article and test David Vizard did with TK-7. Its not strictly a injector cleaner but does apparently impact the fuel system. This is not an endorsment, merely a link to info - you make the decision.

Beleive it or not Slick 50 Fuel System conditioner is the best the average guy can get ahold of. Over the years I've tried them all, several times.

Will this have effects on the oxygen sensor or any other problems?
