intake/head bolt pattern

Can someone give me a run down on the different intake to head bolt patterns? Really what I'm looking for is that I was told that the Corvettes kept the same older "carb" bolt pattern/angles when the Camaro went to the newer FI bolt arrangement, (I guess that was in 1985 or 86). Is this true and did the Corvettes keep this pattern all the way through the TPI engines up till 1992?

Yes, it was in 87 that the bolt angle on the middle four bolts was changed from 45º to 72º. The Corvette aluminum heads are 45º. I found that out the hard way when I tried to bolt the Corvette heads to my stock 91 intake. An aftermarket intake manifold has both hole angles drilled.

Thanks for the response. I want to make sure I am clear on this, when you say that in 87 the bolt angle changed did you mean on Camaros and the Corvettes kept the older angle all the way until 92? Or did you mean the 85-86 Corvettes had the older angle and in 87 the Corvettes changed? Just trying to make sure I have this straight.

No, the Corvettes kept the same 45º angle up to 1991. The f-body changed to the 72º angle in 1987.
