Removing injectors?
Removing injectors?
My car is an '89 L98 and since it is almost 12 years old and has been stored during the winter for most of its life, I,m thinking that the injectors are probably pretty dirty or clogged. So, how do you remove the injectors? Do I need new clips of anything to reinstall them? I am planning on sending them to Cruising Performance for cleaning and flowmatching.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!
unplug the harness ,unbolt and remove the clip pul lthe injector out. you should get new o rings when you get the injectors back, if not get some and lube the o rings with 30w oil. be careful you don't cut a o ring when you put the injectors back in.

Not quite that easy... You need to also remove the plenum, and runners. then unbolt the fuel rail, and pry GENTLY to unseat the injectors from the manifold. There are little locks on the top of the injectors, simply turn them to the side, and pull the injector out. (you will probably want to replace the gaskets when you reinstall them.)
Have fun.

damn i get in trouble every time i try to save on a little typing. i guess i figured the fuel rail and all the was pretty plain to see it had to come off first.
