I was looking through a Pace Performance catalog the other day and saw that they had some new GM L98 shortblocks available which got me to thinking of buying one for my bird. Here's what I came up with for what I think would be a solid engine:
GM L98 shortblock
Iron Vortec heads
Vortec TPI baseplate with either SLP or edelbrock runners and the plenum ported along with a 52mm TB
LT4 Hotcam kit
and pretty much everything that's on the car now from the MSD to the edelbrock headers, etc.
Not sure about stall speed for the converter as I'm running a 9 bolt with 2.77 gears and will be keeping them.
I'm not looking for blistering performance, this is pretty much a show car/cruiser/play toy that could a bit more fun with a bit more power.
