Project RamJet update with new pics!
I just got my FastBurn heads in, and couldn't resist mocking up how the set-up will look. Fuel rails are being fabbed as I type, then it's off to the powdercoater to have the intake and throttle body powdercoated with an "almost chrome" finish.
Heads will be off tomorrow to the head shop for upgraded springs to handle the .560 lift Lingenfelter roller - as well as pocket-porting.
Will post more pics as it comes together.
Here are the pics, SC: http://images.honesty.com/imagedata/...0/22587040.jpg http://images.honesty.com/imagedata/...0/22587041.jpg

Let me first say that it looks like your project is coming along nicely. I have couple of questions.
What are you going to be using for a throttle body?
Who is fabbing the rails for you and is it costing an arm and a leg?
What injector size are you planning on going with, and what ecm are you planning to run? '7730??
Are you doing the programming yourself or is someone else going to do it?
And finally, Screw the powdercoating- Chrome that Bitch!!!

The intake is $400 from Pace Parts.
Throttle body is an LS1 or L31 Vortec TB. I'm using a brand new takeoff L31 TB that I got with the IAC and TPS for $100. New from chevy, they're $216. BBK makes an 80mm TB (stock is 75mm) that list for $399.
Will be running 36lb injectors with either a Haltec or the new Holley DFI / harness.
If your doing a TPI conversion, Street & Performance sells a custom harness for the RamJet that uses the TPI ECM's.
Fuel rails are unavailable from chevy at this time, but list for $327 without the regulator. I bought 3 feet of 1/2 id stock from Lingenfelter for $14 a foot. The shop is charging me $150 bucks to machine the rails, and I will plumb them myself with braided line and an AFPR.
As for HP figures, the RamJet has a runner length of 4.125 inches! That's less than a Victor Junior single plane racing intake.
Compare that to the TPI and SuperRam runner length. The miniram has short runners also, I just don't like the way it looks.
The real horsepower - like any motor - is found in the heads. The FastBurns have 210cc runners - easily enough air for my 10.5:1 383. Combine that with the Lingenfelter .525 roller (.560 lift with the 1.6 roller rockers I have), and you're talking close to 500hp. Chevy built a 383, 9.7:1, .540 lift, FastBurn head motor that dynoed at 497hp. I figure my combo will be in that ballpark, but the dyno will tell the whole story.
Should have the rails done next week.
I'll put up some more pics at that time.
