When I bought the Edelbrock base and runners for my 305 TPI, I was not impressed. I actually went slower in the 1/4 mile. (not by much though) If I were you Id spend the money on exhaust! If you had a 350, (which I have now) You'd do better with the base and runner change. After all the stock base and runners were made for the 305.

When I get back from Kosovo I will be installing these on-order items!

It also depends on how many mods you have. A stock engine will not benefit nearly as much as a modified engine would from the Edelbrock base & runners. As your engine builds more power, it will need the additional flow of a better base & runners.

With your minor mods, I would DEFINETLY go with exhaust first. A good cat-back from Hooker, Edelbrock or Flowmaster can be purchased from Jegs or Summit for under $300, and a set of Edelbrock TES headers will set you back $320. Those 2 things will work wonders on your 305's performance. Exhaust components should always be your first major mods

I noticed a big difference on my ZZ4 crate motor when I switched from ported stock intake to the Edelbrock. Probably not as big a difference on a 305.
