Corvette regulated filter

I am doing a TPI swap into a Nova. I have been i a rut kinda with figuring out how to run a return line with out doing extensive amoutns of fabrication that could possible blow me to smitherins. I noticed that the LS1 Corvettes have a internal regulated Fuel Filter and one line going to the engine. This would make it a lot simpler to do a return line and would also make the engine bay look a little cleaner. But there is one problem that i see with this on the older TPI system. The Corvette filter is regulated at 58psi where the regular TPI regulator is rated at 45psi. would this extra 13lbs have any affects on the system, would it run rich, have drivablilty issues and those sorts of things. Also if it would work would i have to remove the TPI regulator from the rail or could you leave it.

Re: Corvette regulated filter

There is no return line on a vette ? Different . With that extra psi , and no return , it just sounds like a system waiting to fail no ? I think I read here that the stock injectors don't like above 50 psi . Something just seems off there .... but I ain;t no expert so hopefully someone chimes in for ya

Its not that the corvette doesn't have a return line. the Fuel filter has a built in regulator that is set for 56 or so psi. so instead of having the fuel go all the way to the engine and back to the tank, it just goes to the filter then back to the tank.

I go to thinking about it a little more and found some potintial problems mainly the high fuel pressure. I dont know how the corvette system works, but apparently the fuel pressure stays constant, so this would probley run rich at idle. Im sure the pw on the TPI would be lower at idle, but it may not be low enough to make up for the high pressure
