Fuel Pressure Regulator Kits

I have an '89 IROC-Z with the TPI 5.7 L V8. The car also has a hypertech performance street chip, Edelbrock exhaust system, and a ram/cold air induction system. I've been thinking about installing a JET or Crane fuel pressure regulator kit, but I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble. Does anyone out there know alot about this? Will this regulator do everything by itself? How hard is it to install and tune the thing? Do I need to install anything else to make it work correctly (new fuel pump, etc.)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think you would benefit from one with a basically stock engine. As for tuning with them, you need a fuel pressure gauge and time to fine tune it, it is easy to do,just time consuming. I would suggest putting money towards something else first.

installation is simple,, all you do is unblot the plenum and the fpr is right there.. you unbolt the old one and bolt in the new one.. i would get one becasue increasing your fuel pressure will increase hp and atomize your fuel better causing better mpg. you can also make one if you are good with tools and dont want to spend the extra money. http://members.aol.com/mmmm999/3rd-d.../afpr/afpr.htm

surf this site,, its very informative.

I'd recommend the Holley afpr. It's got a **** on top instead of a nut and bolt so it's much easier to tune than the others. I've had mine on for a while and haven't had any problems with it moving.
