Cold Start Fuse is Blowing
Cold Start Fuse is Blowing
Hi Everyone
I got my engine ready for starting and it turns over great but won't fire. I checked for spark at the plugs and at the coil and I have spark. I checked for fuel delivery and I have it I know as far as the fuel rail. I have a 86 TPI system that I put into my 69 and it has the cold start system. I tapped into the wire going to the starter solinoid and fused it (10 amp) then wired up the cold start circuit correctly according to the diagram I had. purple wire to both the switch and the injector, the tan wire from the switch to the tan on the injector. When I turn over the engine the fuse immediatly blows. Someone please help me if you can..... Thanks

hey man ur not gonna be running you car all year so delete the cold start cuircuit i think someone sells a block off plate for the 9th injector . it will take a little longer to start on a cold morning but you wont use as much fuel and your elctrical problems will be gone , Other than that i'm not sure i belive the cold start injector is internally grounded through the ecm check for shorts maybe good luck

Re: Cold Start Fuse is Blowing
wasn't the the cold start switch a ground? I kinda remember doing one, one of the wires to the coldstart injector came from the main injectors ignition feed. The other wire went to the cold start temp sensor and the other wire on the cold start temp sensor goes to ground
