Thanks but I want someone to do it for me. Polishing the plenum is not easy . I don't have the accessories, time, nor the expertise to complete such a project.

I sent you an e-mail. I have polished many TPI injections over the past few years, actually 11 just this past year. Tom Keliher has seen my work first hand if you want an outsiders opinion...

You have the expertise, you just don't know it. A small child could do it... its quite easy. All you need is patience and various grits of sandpaper (400,600,1000,1500), some metal polish, and some free time. Put the money you saved towards making your car faster.

I'm sure I could get it to shine, but I've seen it done professionally and it came out like glass. Post some pics guys, I just want to see what kind of work I have ahead of me.
Thanks for the replies

dan didnt polish the plenum, well he kinda started it for me. He mainly did the porting of the plenum.
Plus he did give me some good pointers on the polishing process. Its easy once you set you mind to it. He did a great job on the porting too. He is a memeber of this sight.

Here is a link to his sight... http://www.isthq.com/~dan/fcar.html

Well to give you an update, I took of my plenum today and polished it. It's already back on the car and looks great!

All I did was start with 80 grit, 180, 220, 400, 600, 1440 , 1440 wet.
Then buffed it out with Blue Magic. Looks really good.
Thanks for all the replies guys.

Joy dish soap! Yes Joy dish soap worked great. I used warm water and a baby bottle brush. A little trick I learned in the Corps to get all the carbon off a rifle with hundreds of rounds through it. Its worth a try its aluminum so no rust.

I use "Easy Off" oven cleaner for the inside of the plenum and runners. Each time I have had great results with it....

Mmmmm! Pretty piece, there!

?JOY? Dish soap?
?Eazy-off? oven cleaner? WOW COOL!

I was fretting over this very question this weekend as I finished porting another plenum.

One question: Do I have to bake the plenum in my wife's oven at 500 degrees for an hour?
