New Ram-Air Idea for TPI Camaros
New Ram-Air Idea for TPI Camaros
Everybody knows how to make a ram-air for a TPI Camaro (Run tubing from the front grills to the air box which has been cut out, with two K&N air filters in place). Well, how bout this idea:
1. Gut the air box where the filters normally go.
2. Run some flex-pipe from the two front grills up to the air box.
3. Do not put air filters in.
4. Put a K&N Cone Air Filter on the end of the throttle body.
I know it says that the K&N Cone Air Filter only works on Speed Density cars. But this is assuming that you are completely removing your air box. So, if you keep the air box there with the MAF sensor, it shouldn't be a problem, right? Well, what do you guys think of this idea? I think it would flow much better than having two K&N's in the air box. Will it work? Thanks.

i suggested something similar to this a while back and the response i got was that the MAF sensor has to be after the filter or it will not function right.
My dream were shattered.
good luck

would it be possible to cut up a MAF sensor and put the element just before the throttle body on one of those cool open air cleaner thingies? so that way it would look like a SD setup but it would still retain the MAF wire just behind the air filter...

yeah if u put the maf on before the filter u will certainly be buying a new one soon, and if the screens are removed, sooner than u think.
