How to - Ohm Injectors

I searched and couldn't find a simple description of what to do. Do I just unhook it from the harness and put and ohm meter across it? Also, the previous owner said it has Ford Racing 24# injectors, should they be the same ohm reading as I see posted everywhere (14-16 ohms)?

Re: How to - Ohm Injectors

If their svo injectors 99-1 they are not bad (it can happen but rare)

Undo the inkector plug and put the meter between the terminals.

14-16 is stock injectors

All svo I have had see worked with were nearer 17.

Anything below 12 is junk per GM.

Ohming them only verifies the electrical side however, you could still have issues with the injectors themselves

Re: How to - Ohm Injectors

Thanks for the reply. All I know is I was told they were newer 24# Ford Racing when I bought the car early this year, I did check them and they were all 15.5 or 15.6. I just thought I would give that a try to check easy things.

I think my real problem is the ICM or coil, as the car dies after operating at 220 in stop and go traffic for a few minutes. Then it will start after sitting for 5-10 minutes.

Re: How to - Ohm Injectors

Yeah, the ICM is the module I believe you are referring to in the distributor. I took the cap off and it looks pretty old (maybe even original), looks like the car is due for a new cap and rotor also.
