Switched injectors, added headers, running rich.

Bought this engine, and put it in. While I had it on the stand, I found the injectors were stuck, instead of trying to cl ean them out, I just purchased these:

I believe they're 22 pounds. Their bright pink, lol.

I also put on some shorty headers.

I did all the wiring for the TPI conversion, and it runs strong. The one problem is it runs awfully rich. I'm not sure where to start. I've seen where I need to know the numbers of the TPS, etc. But I'm not sure if I'm supposed to purchase a plug in meter to measure that or not.

Do I need my computer thingy reprogrammed because of the different injectors? I also read I'm supposed to unplug something when I set timing. I didn't unplug anything. Could I have messed up the timing because the engine is trying to adjust it now?

Is this a 305 or a 350 engine. Those injectors are a bit big for a 350, way big for a 305. Might put on an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and drop the pressure some and help the situation. Is the check engine light on, does it come on when you first start the engine? Might be a temp sensor or something not hooked up correctly or something like that.

I'm sorry.

Its a 350. I thought about the pressure regulator, but that seems like a bandaid on a bigger issue.

Can timing being way off effect this?

Another thing, When it is cold, and I start it, it will idle for 3 seconds and shut off, every single time. The 2nd time, it will idle a little better. I normally have to bump the gas to make it idle.

Could the coolant temp switch be an issue? My check engine light is on, but I accidentally cut out the scanner plug thing. I'll try to find what wires those are, and wire it back in.

Those look to be 22.5lb injectors. The ECM shouldn't have a problem handling a .5lb difference.

Set your base timing the correct way. You could be really retarded.
There should be a black/tan wire with a connectors sticking out of your pass side wire tubing. By the heater box. Disconnect that when you set your timing.
