1988 CAMARO TBI NOW I PUT IN A 1991 TPI SD SYSTEM BUT IM HAVING PROBLEMS

WELL IT STARTS RIGHT AND KEEPS RUNNING THE PROBLEM IS WHEN YOU ARE RUNNING IT FEELS LIKE ITS HOLDING BACK ON THE POWER AND I WOULD SAY IT TAKES FOREVER TO REACH 50MPH COMPARED TO MY 89 ORIGINAL TPI IT DOES NOT GIVE ME ANY CODES I SET THE TIME 6 DEGREES NEW SPARK PLUGS 8MM CABLES ACCEL COIL EVEN WHEN YOU REV IT IN PARKING IT FEELS LIKE ITS NOT AT THE PERFORMANCE IT SHOULD BE ANYONE KNOW WHAT MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM THE CAR IS ORIGINALY 1988 CAMARO 305 TBI NOW 88 CAMARO 305 TPI POSI 700R4

Was the fuel pump changed when you did the swap?

Timing should be 0* with the ignition wire disconnected, you do not need a ton of timing with the TBI heads under a TPI unit.

i checked the manual for a tpi setup and it said the time should be at six and yes i switched the pump to an appropriate one it gives me about 46lb of pressure

That it should be, with TPI heads, the TBI heads burn faster than the TPI heads do.

oh ok so i should time it at zero will they hesitate at the smog only test that is out of time
