I recently saw a tech/question article in one of the Vette mags about the same thing.
According to the article, Vettes, even with their 5 quart oil pan, comes from the factory with a HV oil pump. The article further stated that oil pressure should be 25 psi at idle, hot, synthetic oil (although the oil weight wasn't listed).
Further that some guys have made the mistake of using the passenger car pump which only puts out 15 psi at idle.
I'm running a HV/HP pump in my 415 and just bought a Melling HV/HP for the 355 I'm selling to a guy.

This is a question for Jake. I was wondering if you used the stock diameter small block pickup tube with your HV/HP pump, or if you used the 3/4" big block tube? I've seen pumps that recommend the 3/4 tube, and others that say just to use the regular size tube.
