i got a 91 z with a 305. can i get the TPI intake milled so it bolts up to vortec heads? if so would the heads be to much for my engine? i know the heads work great for 350's which im going to build in a few years but i need heads now for my 305. i thought i could just use them until i get my new engine.

Vortec heads would dump your CR into the toilet. Try 305 SR torkers from world.

 

you can mill the heads to increase your compression, I milled a set .030" for a 305 and put them on a 350 later. If you mill your heads that much, you would probably want to mill your "vortec bolt pattern tpi intake" as well so it will "fit" right. But then you pretty much have a matched set.
some people have mated the vortec heads to the stock pattern intake - I don't think I would do that myself however, but to each their own.
