Missing.. running on 7 cyclinders.. help
Ok. the sh*t has hit the fan. About ready to hit up some street races, and all of a sudden, my car sounds like a miata with pace setter exhaust on it... it misses horribly from about 2k-3k... goes away when I stomp on it... was doing this all day, then just a little while ago, on the way to the store to get a new cap & rotor, one cylinder completely died, then came back up 10 min later.. ignition? fuel? stuck valve? any ideas. this is hella embarrassing, and I have a date in like 2 hours.

last resort for you should be a compresion test. my '87 iroc started running foul one day on 7 cylinders or so and after checking everything i wanted it to be, cheap, i found my compresion on #1 was in the ****ter. hopefully shattered piston rings aren't your problem, but the fact is it could be a multitude of things, don't just look at the surface. my new engine is in the works for this spring though, gotta love an excuse for more hp. keep on burn'n.
