TBI to TPI swap question wiring woes...
Hey guys, I'm swapping out the TBI 305 for a TPI 355 and am almost finished. I just have a couple of quick questions. First of all, it seems as though I have a plug left over on the TPI wiring harness (it is a stock harness) that goes through the firewall by the ECM. Everything plugs back up except I have one connection left over. I heard that this may be the VSS. True? If so, how do I hook it up? Also, what do I do with the old wiring that plugged into my tranny? Leave it or plug the TPI, 4 prong connector in. What about the VSS sensor that plugs in the back of the tranny by the driveshaft? I don't have one on my TPI harness. By the way, I'm swapping an 86-88 TPI into a 91 RS. Thanks. Can't wait to crank it up!

The 86-88 Camaro TPI harness used a cable driven speedo, while your 91 RS uses an electronic speedo. You'll need to add the wires for the speedo. Your best bet would have been to get an 88 Firebird harness.
Or modify your TBI harness to TPI, like my dad did.
