Where are the mass air sensors on a 86 IROC???

Where are the mass air sensors on a 86 IROC???

I have replaced the 2 air filters with k'n filters but where are those sensors that everyone takes out??...in that black plastic circle going to the intake???I see some stuff in there...is it safe to take out..is it worth it???Oh yeah it is a 86 LB9 305 tpi

The mass air flow sensor is located between the air filters and the throttle body, so yes the round black thing with the wiring going to it. You can not just remove the entire mass air flow sensor (unless you convert to speed density using a MAP sensor) which is quite not something you should do unless you have experience.

What I suspect you are referring to is the removal of the screens on the mass air flow sensor, which can easily be done. The pro's and con's of doing so are debateable.
