Servicing IAC Valve
I recall an article by Vader that fully detailed this. Removal, disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, the works. I want to do this, but cannot find the article. Someone please direct me to this. I would like to take care of it this weekend. Thanks.

I don't know where the article you're looking for is, but I've taken mine apart for cleaning.
It's simple.
Just unscrew it from the TB. You'll see the pintle with a spring around it.
Grab the tip of the pintel with your fingers and wiggle it from side to side as you pull outward. It takes a couple of minutes, but the pintel will eventually come completely out.
Now use electrical spray cleaner (rather than carb cleaner which can leave a residue) and a tooth brush to clean all the carbon off. Don't get any inside the IAC since I'm told it can have a negative effect on the circuits.
Very, very lightly oil the pintel and replace it using the same side to side movement as you push it in about half way.
Reinstall and connect it.
Now you have to go through the resetting procedure involving jumpering the A & B terminals of the ALDL under dash connector, turning the key "on", disconnecting the IAC wiring. Start the engine with the IAC disconnected to verify that minumumn idle speed is correct (500 RPM per GM's most recent Service Bulletin.
Shut down the engine, reconnect the IAC. Reset the TPS voltage if you adjusted the minimum idle setting. You'll need a digital volt meter to do this and be sure to make all your connections/disconnections with the ignition key 'OFF' no voltage spike reach the ECM.
Disconnecting the IAC with the ignition "ON" is okay though.
Start the car and drive it at normal throttle positions at a speed of around 40 MPH so the ECM can learn the new settings.
Each time you shut down the engine, the ECM send electrical pulses to the IAC to reset it to its base setting.
Hope this helps.
