I have an 89 GTA and I'm looking to retain (at least for now) my stock exhaust manifolds but use the Scoggin-Dickey Vortec TPI intake with the EGR kit they supply (pipe from the exhaust to the intake)

They instruct welding the tube to the passenger exhaust but you can't do that with the stock manifolds.

Anyways, I was wondering if others have seen other ways to approach this. I was thinking of tapping threads in the iron manifold for the tube, or trying to connect the tube to some other exhaust air tube (my preference - there's a bunch of them anyway)

Also, their tube has a connector for what I'd imagine is an EGR heat sensor. Should I relocate my existing sensor there or just plug it up?

I just plugged mine with a bolt and then connected the tube to my headers.

Not sure if tapping a hole in the exhaust manifold will work... in my experience those things get kind of brittle after a zillion miles.
