Guess what I found!!

After about my 8th tank of gas while getting only about 10mpg, I started poking around.... I was wondering why I would get this strong fuel odor every time I turned on my fan, so I started looking at the cold start injector boss and saw fuel stains around the union and a little bit up on the fuel rail..... reached down in there with my fat fingers and found I could turn the boss with one finger!! The darn thing had worked it's way loose I guess when I was moving the cold start injector while I was putting the driver's side runner back in after I powdercoated the intake. I tightened the thing almost 2 complete turns!! I know I should have went ahead and changed the O-ring but I didn't feel like taking off the runner and all that just for a stinkin o-ring. I'll keep my fingers crossed and see if this does the trick....

One good thing, I noticed before I tightened it that when I shut off the engine I could hear a slight hissing sound.... now it's gone........

I am having a problem with starting my car cold and keeping it running when cold, when it is warm it runs great. My car is a 85 TA TPI I know that it has a cold start injector. I just dont know how to diagnose if the injector is bad or what, Vader is there anything I can do to diagnose what the problem can be, I have done most of the obvious and some other things too. I was also thinking it could be the IAC except if it were the IAC wouldent it not run good warm too?

thanks,
Dennis Pope
