Idle problem

When downshifting coming to a light my car sometimes stalls or goes real low on the rpms and almost stalls but will catch itself but sometimes it doesn't do it at all. I bought the car about 3 months ago but haven't really drove it because of the winter. Any ideas, also i read in one of the topics that a guy wants to go to 3.42 from 3.73, i have a 9 bolt aussie rear end and i just put in 3.73, was that a bad move, i had 3.45?

Every car is a little different, but normally the 3.23:1 rear gear is about optimal for a TPI car.
For the idle & stalling, just do your normal ignition (plugs, wires, cap) checks and I would also suspect the IAC motor. The plungers get dirty and worn.
good luck

So basically i should have kept the 3.45, will the 3.73 hurt me? I'm only know the basic's about cars but i'm trying to learn, so what is a IAC motor?

The 3.73 generally would not hurt a stock TPI cars E.T. but might lower the trap speed slightly.
The IAC is Idle Air Control motor on the passenger-side of your throttle body. Refer to a TPI tech manual for servicing/checking.
