yes it was. What is bad, the wreck didn't look all that bad compared to the earlier Tony Stewart wreck. The Air Jordon of Nascar is Gone and will be missed.

He died today from an impact with the wall on the last lap. Didnt look that bad, but it was straight into the wall.

I hear you "The Man", I saw the last 18 laps and the crash didn't look bad at all. Come to find out about 45 mins after the race that they had to cut inside the car to get him out and he was never conscious.
I STILL CAN'T FREAKING BELIEVE IT!!

This is somthing that I am still having a hard time grasping. I couldn't believe it when my mom told me, I was total shock. Anyway, Dale and his family will be in my prayers as well as all of yours.

and today dale earnhardt slipped the surly bonds of earth to touch the face of god

Retire number #3!!!!!!!!!!! Or let jr. carry it. Earnhardt was the best. He gave to nascar. Many stories. When Ernie was packing his bags to go home, Earnhardt got together with a couple of drivers a sponsored him a couple of races until he could get going again. Sheding a tear is just a sign that your human side is still in tack. I wasn't a Irwin fan, but I sorry to see him go. At least he died going what he loved. How many of us can say that we will get to do that? Earnhardt is the King of Nascar!!!!
His last act was giving someone else a fighting chance!

I am still in utter disbelief over his passing away like that. this isnt the way it is suppose to happen it isn't right. but it can happen and it did, the reality of such a tragedy never seems to make sense and probably never will.

i will be first to admit, i wasn't an earnhardt fan in the least but i had respect for him, how couldn't you have respect for such great driver and person.
when i saw the look on shraders face, i knew something was terribly wrong and my heart dropped. i think everyone shedded a tear or two over this tragedy. my prayers with everyone

I may have not been a fan of him, he was a driver I loved to hate, but I was sad to hear this happen. He is a ledgend. I agree, #3 should be retired, or given to his son to carry on the legasy.

He was my my number 1 driver and always will be. Next to him is his son Dale jr. Yes I agree to retire the number 3 or let Dale jr drive. It was a very sad day indeed, and Dale will be missed. He was too young to go just like that, but he didn't suffer any either.

The guy (stephen), seems like a real ***** to me...A bit power hungry, are you? Jerk! You are completely out of line here...

Perhaps we should vote him off this website?
