Camshaft help

I am looking at getting a ZZ3 camshaft. Do I need to change valve springs with this cam? I am planning on staying with the factory rocker arms for now but am having the heads ported and one size bigger valves. I have already ported the intake and don't really want to have to update computer quite yet. I was going to get a ZZ9 camshaft from TPIS but they are a lot more than a ZZ3 and not much different on cam specs. I would greatly appreciate help on the spring question. Thanks.

Yes, you will need new valve springs with the ZZ3 Cam. It has .509" of lift on the exhaust side and the OE springs are only safe till about .490" or so lift. I bought the valve springs TPIS sells for the ZZ9 Cam when I swaped in my LT4 HOT Cam, and even though I haven't really been able to drive my car yet, I am sure the new springs will work great. They cost me $125 and were delivered with in a week.
