I am building a new motor. should be around 425 to 450 hp. basically I have the pre 87 head (bowtie phase II) so I need a new intake $370. I bought a bunch of parts cheap. would not have been my choise but I got a machined block, steel crank, steel rods, the bowtie heads, summit engine kit with hyperutectic pisons and a bunch of other stuff for $400. I will most likely benefit from new runners $250 (slp). my injectors may work but most likely should be upgaded $250 at least. I will need a new chip or start burning my own $250 minimum. so I am looking at like $1200 in upgades. now I can buy the new accel proram for $1700. I can get at least 500 out of my old stuff so I am thinking this would be the way to go unless they are just pieces of sh*t.

A friend of mine mounted an Accel DFI on a DZ302 in a 69 Camaro Z28. He built the motor for FI (cam selection, etc). He said he had a heck of a time getting things right but once he got it correct, WOW!
I guess there is a learning curve with those.
