U possibly have an aftermarket head that uses universal valve covers or u may have an adapter kit which a company sells to use regular valve covers instead of centerbolt. Ive seen the adapter kit.

What year is your car and what is the 8th digit of the VIN? If it in fact is an original L98 engine, then the valve covers have been changed as said above.

Its also possible somebody swapped the engine or heads in your car before you got it.

From what ive learned about these models is that where ever you look on the car whether it be in the glove box at your assembly line options sheet or decoding your vin L-98's never came in any third gen it was called the b2l L-98's came with aluminum heads starting in 86 with the vette the easiest way to check if someone swapped heads is to look at the exhaust manifold or header it should have two accessory holes near the front of the head on the drivers side if it has one they are likley to be older production castings take a magnet to them and see if you have a pleasant suprise(aluminum)

Yeah it just had me wondering cause my car has L98 written all over it but those valve covers are not centerbolt. I really did not take it into serious thought until recently. Can you bolt the TPI intake to that many different heads? Ill go check today and see if they are aluminum or not. I hope they are cause that would be sweet...haha. It will probably turn out to be some 305 someone put in.

Thanks for all your help
