My friend is running a set of 3.70s in his 88 IROC 305 and is very happy. His car originally came with the 3.45s.

Axle/Gears: 12 bolt-3.73

Depends on your combination. According to Drag 2000, a 3.70 gear would make my car slower in the 1/4 than my stock 3.27's.

Same here - I have the 3.70's and my car falls on its face after about 70mph, which i've been told is common. I jus got a spare rear with 3.27's and i'm seriously considering using those gears instead!
