Hello,
I posted here a while back about using L98 aluminum heads on the 305 going into my Volvo 740 sedan. My main concern is EGR since I live in New Jersey which is quickly becoming the east coast equivalent of California. Did the F-body cars ever have the same EGR system that the Corvettes did? I've seen F-body exhaust manifolds with some sort of tubing coming out and leading to the intake. Could this be used in conjunction with Vette heads and exhaust manifolds (or headers)?
Thanks,
Matthew C. Hall

The vettes didn't have an EGR system, the heads aren't designed with egr. The tube coming form the manifold is probobly for air injection and not leading to the intake. I run the vette heads on my stock tpi and have no problems. Just leave the egr valve on the manifold so it will pass a visual check, then make sure it runs good and it may pass a sniffer.
good luck.

Here's what I did:

Thats a set of SLP 1 3/4" headers specially modified by my dad and I to use the Corvette EGR with the Corvette heads. That setup is how the Corvettes have their EGR.

The Corvette definitely has an EGR system as do all cars manufactured in the past 25 or so years. In John Baechtel's TPI engine swapping book it shows the Corvette intake with the rear mounted EGR port. From what I've found in the archives a system can be fabricated by tapping a line from #8 cylinder at the manifold to the Corvette manifold to rectify the problem. Has anyone else done this?

Sorry, your right. the vette's had egr, just a different setup. I was meaning the heads didn't have egr provisions, you's have to do setup like the vette has. My bad.
