checking valve clearances before getting the parts? possible?
So I want to get a new cam for my car. I bought a set of AFR 190cc heads with 2.05/1.6 milled to 58CC chambers.
My motor is a 350 bored .040 over. Piston specs are as follows:
Dome shape: .070 dish; 4 valve reliefs
Compression dist 1.540
Deck Clearance .045
Skirt Clearance .0010

I plan on using a thinner head gasket. The cam will plan on being a 224/230 duration at .050 with .580 lift (with 1.6RR) on a 112LSA.
I know the clay method, but that requires actually buying the parts first...
Is there any way to determine if I'd be safe with that lift and duration without having the parts at the current moment.
I don't think I'd have trouble as the pistons are dished, and have valve notches in them, but one can never be too sure...
Thanks!

Those valve reliefs look deeper than mine (looking through my micrometer eyes).
I have a .030 over 350 with/had .039 gasket, 60cc chamber on some AL L98's, stock valves, and previously had a 224/230 .497/.517 112LSA cam and had plenty of clearance. Even with more lift, at those low lifts when the pistons are so far up the difference between your lift and mine at that point would be negligible at best. Currently its same bore, .038 gasket, 60cc chamber AFR 190's with 2.02/1.60, 232/238 .576/.570 113LSA cam (something like that), same pistons, and still have plenty of clearance.
I suspect you'll be fine.
I dont like those pistons. Too much deck clearance.
