This may not help you but at least it'll get this to the top again.
One question, may sound stupid but, did you put new univeral joints in too?
Also don't you need different type of U-joints for aluminum driveshafts?
Sorry I couldn't help.

It sometimes depends on the generation of the car that you put the aluminum driveshaft on. I believe that 3rd gens should have 3" or 3.5" and 4th gens a larger one. Maybe someone will explain this a lil bit better.

Its obvious the driveshaft is unbalanced.

Maybe the rest of the U-joint needs replacing.

Where did you got the drive shaft? lf out of a junkyard, it could have been damaged in the accident that put it in the junkyard. if aftermarket, then you could have a poorly made driveshaft. If externally balanced, a weight could have come off. If internally, it could chipped. These are some ideas.

Me myself, l'd have replaced the rest of the U-joint. Also, l'd replace it now, since a worn u-joint will cause vibrations, and it would be one less thing to worry about.

When you say "U-Joint" do you mean yoke? Becuase that's what I purchased....I have the yoke for the rear....The porton that goes into the tranny is fine....It was not a junk yard shaft, it was off a 4th gen that was running 11's...

just pull it and have it balanced. it wont cost more than 30$ (at most) at a shop. I have mine balanced, with new u joints front and rear and they also painted it for 58.60$.

I'm having ridiculous vibs in my '91 Z too! I've replaced all u-joints and even installed a steel driveshaft and the vibs are still there. At 60 mph it starts humming and by 65 it's shacking horribly. As far as rebalancing an aluminum driveshaft, I've called everyone under the sun in the Baltimore/DC area and no one can balance an aluminum driveshaft, only steel which runs in the $40 range. It's enough to drive one to drinking!

I already got the prob fixed....The U-joint was a hair 2 big for my rear-end, so I put the u-joint I already had in place, and it fit perfect, and the humming is GONE! Than u Guys for all ur help!
