I bought a 1987 iroc z28 with a stock 305tpi engine here in dominican republic, I wanted to swap the engine for a 350 but the shipping cost from usa is as expensive as the engine so...I'll keep my money to fix the 305 but here's the problem. People here use natural gas to save money from using Normal gas...they put a gas bottle in the back, fill it, inject the gas just after the MAF sensor (yeah, they make a hole or they make a additional part just before the intake to put the gas pipes). Ok then, loooots of people use it here, it works fine, but it has many problems when you switch to normal fuel after a long time using the natural gaz: Injectors are usually really pissed off, cause they don't work and the combustion is not the same as fuel one, sensors are tired...So, I need to fix it up, what should I buy? repair? I was planning on buying all the sensors (I'll check the computer but I think it will tell me the same, i don't know), maybe new injectors, seals...there's a huge smell of fuel when I start it normally (there's a switch to swap) but the engine sounds like it's receiving to many fuel, or not enough air, it's always on the way to turn off alone...

Any advices on what to do? buy? replace? fix? Thank you very much.

 

hmmm....this seems likea question for my father, he converts cars to run on propane and compressed natural gas here in the u.s., although theyre generally carb'ed engines, i'll let you know about it...i'll ask him
