Quick Question - Octane
Just a quick question. What type of fuel do you guys run in your TPI motors (more specifically the LB9 305). I run regular unleaded, but I don't quite know what detonation sounds like.
The engine only has a 9.5:1 compression ratio, so it would seem as if regular unleaded is enough. I mean, the only thing this car has different is a cam - and I'm still not sure if it does have a non-stock one (though I have been told by a few people it sounds like the car does).
Thanks.

Detonation usually sounds like the valves rattling when you are accelerating. I would think regular would be fine in your car unless you are getting detonation.

It will sound like bearings in a tin can rattling around.
I run 87 in my car most of time and every once in awhile I will fill up with 93.

Oh, okay. I don't think I hear any of that. I do hear clicking on idle (when things are next to my car) and (louder when I am accelerating), but I'm pretty sure it's just a header leak.
Okay, thanks.

Yeah, and I'm dead sure it's at the headers - some bolts are not completely tight, and naturally, they're the bolts that are impossible to get to.
