help!!! heads don't match intake

i have an 87 tpi 305 and i just got vortec fastburn heads for it and i had them milled down to fit. my intake manifold does not match up to the holes quite right , i was wondering if they have a gasket that will make it fit or if i have to buy a whole new intake? and if i do buy a new intake will my old tpi system fit up to the new manifold?

You should've searched the archives for info on the Vortec style heads - there have been a lot of posts regarding Vortec/TPI. The only way to get your stock intake to match the heads is to weld it then port it and have it milled - and it still won't be a good match. SDPC is "supposed" to be releasing a TPI base intake for the Vortec heads next month - although that's been the case for a year and a half.

Search for Vortec and you should find all the info you want about why your parts don't match and what your options are.

there has been some talk about it being in the $450-500 range for the base... but it will be able to retain the egr for emmissions...

i am waiting for this intake also...

later,
Chris
