Problem installing Autometer Fuel Press. Gauge
Problem installing Autometer Fuel Press. Gauge
How have any of you done this? I can't find a damn fitting that goes from the Schrader valve (4 AN), which is male, to the sending unit which is 1/8" NPT (also male). Earl's doesn't have em, neither does anyone else I have tried. I called Autometer and they just told me to call elsewhere.
So, simply put, I need a fitting with two female ends; one 4 AN and the other 1/8" NPT.
Any help would be great.
Thanks

A hint that NickD gave me, and I used it with no problems:
Find a Parker or Aeroquip Industrial fitting supply store in your town. Buy a swivel nut 90 degree elbow fitting that has a -4 37 degree flare female nut that screws onto the Shrader valve (once you take out the valve inerds). The other end of the elbow is a -4 male fitting. I then used a 3ft -4 braided hose to go to the sending unit which I mounted on the driver's side firewall cowl (by the relays). The Autometer gauge/hose kit had a fitting in it that was a female pipe thread on one side, and a -4 male 37degree flare on the other that fit on the sending unit.
The local Parker place was open on Saturdays, and the part was about $3. Even if you opt to look for your own combination of fittings, the Parker or Aeroquip distributors can help you.
