Can't get to WOT? Any ideas?

Ok, the car in the signature is the one i'm talking about. It has the accell 58mm throttle body. The TPS appears to work if i manually open the throttle blades by hand. Voltage goes from .54 to 4.xx without any problems. Ok, well i ran a trial with diacom. I mash the throttle, the car doesn't seem to pick up as it should. I later noticed that the TPS voltage is reading 2.xx volts instead of something in the neighborhood of 4.xx something. When i push the pedal down the springs seem to work ok on the throttle body itself. But for some reason the accelarator cable doesn't seem to open the throttle body completely up. Could it be the cable itself? or the spring on the throttle body has too much resistance?

Keep in mind that the car has a super ram so could the cable be in a bind? The car has a T5 also.

Thanks,

Brendan

Is the cable adjusted to the right length, or hooked up right. It could be in a bind, either way, it sounds like a TV cable to me.

Come on man, for crying out loud! This is a "NO" brainer. Remove the ducting from the TB and have somebody mash the gas and see if the blades are opening all the way.
Some people drown in a glass of water!

So, you have manually checked the opening of the TB to see that the TB opens fully and the TPS voltage goes smoothly from 0.5xV to 4.xxV. Thats step one.

Next, have someone sit in the drivers seat and slowly press the gas pedal to the floor. A second pewrson watches the TB. The TB should open slowly & smoothly and the TB plates should be horizontal when the gas pedal hits the floor.

I have the SR also. The accel cable takes a high loop over the corner of the SR to the proper hookup point on the TB.

Are you hooked up to the right place on the TB with the accel cable? I'm only suugesting this because there are 2 or 3 hookup points.
One is for the Auto tranny kickdown cable which you dont have because you have a T5.

Anyway, I hope this helps.

Doc and everybody else that replied,

I just had my Brother help me check the accelrator cable. He mashed the gas and it appears to be opening. I wonder if the Diacom run i did wasn't real accurate. Everything under the hood looks good. I'll do some more research to see.

Thanks everybody,

Brendan
