LT1 cam in 91 305 tpi
I have a 91 z28 vert with a 305 tpi/auto tranny. There was oil getting in the coolant, so I suspect a head problem. Me and my buddy tore the upper end of the engine apart tonight, and got to thinking that heck, we came this far; why not go a little furthur and throw in a cam? He has a stock LT1 cam he got with a converted LT1 intake from a guy on here he's willing to give me. What I want to know is if this will make any difference over the stock cam, and whether or not I need a new chip (it's speed density). Thanks for any advice you may have.

It's damn near the same cam but with a little more lift.

Put it in there, you wont have a problem. It would be like adding 1.6 rockers to your stock cam. But, you cant add 1.6 rockers to the LT1 cam with stock heads, that's too much lift.
