INJECTORS ONLY FIRING ON DRIVERS SIDE??
Anyone know what would cause the injectors to work on one side of my car but not the other?? I know TPI has bank firing so there are 4 injectors(black wire green tracer) that fire on one side at once and 4 injectors( black wire pink tracer) that fire together on the other side at once. So what do you guys think do I have a possible short feeding one side. Lost a ground?? ECM issue. I'm running a prominator in my ECM. all mods are listed below but I have since added Brodix 200IK heads and a ZZ4 cam. I did thses mods after finding a blown head gasket between 3-5 cylniders. I was thinking the head gasket was the major problem but now the car is running the same after the head/cam change.

Test
Unplug the coil wire and use a multimeter
On the bank thats not firing, test each color lead by grounding it to the block while having a friend crank the engine over
If you show voltage then you have a bad ground
No voltage is a short
The common ground is on the backside of each CYL head

Re: INJECTORS ONLY FIRING ON DRIVERS SIDE??
thanks for the advice. I was just talking to the guy at the shop my car is at and after he checked it out some more he said that I do have the correct voltage to all 8 injectors. He also used a laser to check to see the temps coming out of each cylinder header tube. He said I have 4 cylinders that the car is running on. 3 one the driver side and 1 on the passenger side. all the rest are cold. So at this point it looks like the ECM is good and the injector driver is working. It also looks like I dont have a bad fuse or wire feed a bank of injectors cuz I would have lost all injectors on one side of the engine. In the spring I took the car out after it sat all winter without running. First ride going to a car show it ran good down the block then i jumped on it smoked the tires ran good for a min later then just ran like hell. After replacing all ignition parts I did a compression test and found a blown head gasket between 3-5, I assumeed that was the problem and swapped new heads and did a cam change while the car was apart. After putting it all back together it still ran the same, no power. So i'm thinking the blown head gasket was the miss I had last year but the car still ran mid-low 13's. I'm thinking my issue now and then that was the major power lost might be bad injectors for bad gas cuz of the car sitting and not running all winter??? I do have the correct voltage to all injectors so maybe the 4 cylinders that are not running have clogged injectors for sitting all winter?? If I missed the ground wire for the injectors while installing new heads would any injectors work??... ....What do you guys think!!??

You need to ohm the injectors. If you have one that is real low it can be pulling the voltage down so that only a few are firing. Should read 12-16 ohms.

if the injectors all ohm check good, check to see if your getting a good signal to them.
a quick way to check for the proper signal at the injectors is with a noid light. you should be able to find one at most parts houses.
if you have a good signal the injectors may be stuck.
when i put my motor in & first got it running it had sat for about 6 months.
i had several dead cylinders on the first startup. after i found it was some of the injectors not firing, with the motor running i tapped on the ones not firing with a 1/2 inch wrench. after a few taps this freed them up & the cylinders started firing.

Thanks guys, guy at the shop said he's going to pulll the fuel rail and test the injectors off the car so well see what happens. Looks like it might just be clogged/dirty injectors fromm the car sitting for a few month.... well see
