tpi will not start
tpi will not start
the car is an 81 monte w/ a 355, corvette heads, holley stealth ram, LT4 hot cam among other things...
i parked the car 2 wks ago to replace the govoner in the tranny (700R4), the car was working perfect before this.
tried starting it for a test drive and the car would not start?
i tried again the next day the car started no problem, great!
i took it out for a drive down the street with no problems, when i tried to start it again it would not start!
- the car has fuel pressure (40 psi)
- there is no spark
- i tried replacing the ignition module, no change, so i put the old one back in(it's 6 monthes old)
- i tried replacing the ECM, still won't start!
- it has an MSD 6AL & blaster coil, there is power going to the box, but do not know how to test if power is going to the coil.
- i tried to eliminate the MSD and return to stock coil configuration, still won't start...
- the TPI wire harness is from howell electronics as is the chip inside the ECM, do the chips go bad?
- i also have a hypertech chip i tried but still no luck...
- i have replaced the coil pick-up, cap & rotor
sorry for the long post but i do not know what else to look for or test.. the car has not given me any problems all summer..
any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: tpi will not start
checked inj1 and 2 fuses, and the ecm 20 amp fuse that is located in the wiring harness inside a fuse holder?
Re: tpi will not start
thanks for the ideas -
- the wires are msd super connductor 8.5 mm couple monthes old
- it is a small cap, accel which is brand new..
- this engine is in a monte carlo, so i will have to check a couple fuses..
- the distributor gear is good, i replaced the coil pick-up last week
