Running out of time, Please help!

I am converting a 88 Camaro TBI to a 91 TPI. I have the complete TPI setup, GM harness, ECM out of a 91 Z28. I have a 350 ready to drop in the 88 with the 91 TPI setup on top. I changed out the fuel pump and strainer today! (Ugh what a job!)
A few questions I dont know the answers for and need help and advice.
1) The harness pinouts have to be converted to match the 88 at the firewall correct. Any other wiring changes?

2) The fuel lines look the same up front but what about the ones in the back between the chassis and the sender? Are they the same?

3) I can purchase a Memcal for a 91 350 TPI locally for about $60.00. But my 88 does not have VATS. Dont I have to disable it in the PROM? (Custom PROM??)

I would appreciate any help or feedback. I have my 88 at a friends garage and his lease is up in a week!

Thanks so much!

You will make things much easier if you have access to Helms books for both the '91 and '88 platforms. I did a similar swap, putting an '88 GTA setup into my '82 Z28.

I had to focus on two connectors...C100 at the firewall on driver side, and C217 in the pax side footwell near the ECM. C217 connects to the chassis under-dash harness and had (among other things) my fuel pump output and brake switch (torque converter clutch control) input. Without accurate wiring diagrams, such as are found in the Helms books, you're guessing and likely to smoke a sensor/fuse/link/etc in the process.

I know it's not what you wanted to hear, but hope it helps save you some aggravation! E-mail me offline if you want my Excel spreadsheets of the two connectors in question, definitely not the same as yours but it's a place to start.

PS yes you'll need to either buy a custom PROM or burn a no-VATS chip. The stock '91 PROM will look for a VATS signal which it won't get...and you won't be able to start.

(1)Yes, you will have to change out the VSS as the TBI uses a buffer, the S/D TPI VSS feeds directly in to the computer.
(2)The fuel lines are the same.
As posted earlier, the wiring diagrams are a must.
I just did the swap on a '92 TBI to TPI
