89 350 cam in a 87 305 tpi

Ive got an 87 305 tpi i have a 89 350 cam i would like to put in my 305(check out cam specs in technical articles) but the 305 auto in 87 had a very small lift and 108sep the 89 has higher lift but 117sep. Will i be able to run this cam with out changing proms or injectors

I'm no expert, but I would think it's feasible. The MAF TPI systems are pretty tolerant when it comes to cam changes, and the factory L98 cam isn't a massive difference from the cam you have now. At the least, an adjustable fuel pressure regulator might not be a bad idea. On the 90-92 speed density cars, which are more sensitive to cam changes, GM put the exact same cam in both the 305 and 350 TPI's.

yes thats doable, but if ur going thrue the trouble of swapping cams, go bigger and better. even a stock lt1 would be more beneficial.

Yeah, if you're interested, I've got a LT1 cam out of a 94 T/A in great condition. The 93-94 LT1 cams have the standard length dowel pin, so you don't even have to shorten it. It's a direct fit in the 87-92 305/350 motors. Shoot me a PM if you want it. Pat.
