I just bought an air intake for a Camaro, and two K&N square filters. Is it a good idea to cut out the bottom underneath the air filters so it gets more air?

yeah. i did that and took out the things behind the fog lights that shoot the air to the radiator, and took the screens off my MAF and noticed a difference. more top end than before.
