Runs good under load, bad without. (Even idle)
89 305 TPI. 118k
Well, I went to get my car inspected today, not so good on emissions, HC only bad with no/low load; NOx bad at all times; CO2 stayed pretty constant at all levels (bad); O2 was high at idle and low load acceleration.
Car misses a lot under light, no, or negative load. (It feels like when your fuel pump is dying or you are running out of gas) If I give it gas or slam the pedal the engine GOES.
I have done ignition work, plugs, MSD 8.5's, ACCEL Cap + rotor, MSD coil.
Bought car a few months back, was sitting for about a year or two, only about a gallon of gas was in the tank, put in 7 gallons of fresh gas... Did all general maintainance. (Filters, fluids, etc..)
Any ideas?
I bought a Weiand 7546 and a 600 Vacuum Sec. Holley and rebuilt a int. coil HEI distributor. It's looking like a good option right about now..

Sounds like my problem. It was the injectors. Check to see if your multimeter at the injectors are reading 17 Ohms each. If lower, they may need to be replaced like mine. Currently looking at rebuilt ones on Ebay. 120.00. Pepboys new 600.00. Dealer 1,000.00 for all 8!!!!!!!!!!

Very interesting, as I believed it to possibly be injectors at one point. Now it is hard to know what to believe. hehe
I have not felt like testing individual injector resistance, but my issue does also become more prevalent when warmed up.
Are you sure it is 17 ohms? I dunno these engines very well, but I know 60 degree V6 Multec1 injectors are 12 ohms...
I'll run some tests on my injectors.
Thanks,
Dave

O2 sensor - within 20 miles of driving
Safe to say the car hasn't gotten out much. I swapped the MAF with a new one (The new one was a HotFIlm though and not a HotWire MAF) and it did not help, the voltages were within .04 volts also.
O2 sensor output is quite pleasant when I monitor it with my hand-held scanner. BLM is around 135 often.
Actually, the computer reads lean at idle, O2 is in the .400 - .500 range much of the time.
AIR injection fittings on the manifold leak slightly (can see bubbles at fittings when wet), although I don't know that it would be enough to offset the O2??

That's lean. It could easily be your fuel system not providing the required amount.

Well, that's the peculiar thing, becuase:
The exhaust has a bit of odor.
At idle HC, CO, NOx and CO2 are all at elevated levels. I could probably actually post my run on the inspection "dyno"'s results ( concentration Levels).
Under load the HC drops to quite below the car's "limit". NOx is REALLY high under load. O2 is low, CO2 is steady. So, I guess I could be lean or maybe have a faulty EGR?
