Fuel pump question? Stock or aftermarket

If you must replace a fuel pump, is it worth it to get a cheap, working stock replacement, or just go with an aftermarket? If aftermarket, which brand? Usually stock pumps go on ebay for under $20, so I'm thinking of taking that route. But I know what a PITA they are to replace. Thanks.
