350 vs supercharged 305
350 vs supercharged 305
i am the proud owner of a 1987 trans am....it is a 305 tpi with 144,000 miles on it, but i can probably gut most of the motor and freshen it up and throw a supercharger on it or....
buy a 350 long block from the junkyard and build it up and maybe add some extra parts to add some power in my basement and then throw it in maybe next summer....
what do you guys think?

Re: 350 vs supercharged 305
supercharging an old 305 may not be the best idea but I would personalyl go with the save some money and do it right the first time choice. jsut my two cents. but it you were to do one or the other I would go with rebuild the 305 bigger crank and heads then add all new internals and then the supercharger. I still just say do it right the first time.

take your 305, get splayed caps, put a low compression rotating assembly in there, put a supercharger on top.
