What do you guys think of this mod?

Has anybody done this to their car?

Right after the MAF, just place something that would keep all the dirt away. (have not figured out what yet, maybe new sock)
By doing this, we could avoid the air box which is a restriction.

What do you think of that.

Good or bad idea?

Bad....Where are you going to get air for the MAF? Air under the hood is hot. Also, a sock isn't going to do much as an air filter. The best thing to do is to eliminate the air box and hook up a cold air induction setup with a K&N on the end.

One piece of crap that hits that wire is going to kill a $100+ piece of equipment.
