Heads on a TPI

i just found out one of the heads are cracked on my 89 350 tpi motor i was wondering if any 350 heads would fit it??? i dont know when the heads changed to the new bolt pattern...

any help would work

or if any one has a set of heads in missouri that could help too

try and find a set of vortec heads . i had a set on my 355 and they where great and pretty cheap. you can get up to .480 lift cam with no mods on the heads.

but then doesnt the intake have to be drilled for the new style heads??

No, you have to buy a vortec style intake for it to work on a TPI. Scoggin dickey parts has them.

With a simple valve cover change, along with a little routering of the 4 center intake manifold bolt holes, you could use any 350 head from about 1970-1986. If you want to stick with centerbolt heads, any 87-92 350 head will be a direct bolt-on. Of course, you'd be best off using the original 083 centerbolt casting that's on your motor. The centerbolt truck heads have larger chambers and the ports don't flow as good. Same with any of the TBI heads for that matter. If you're doing this on a budget, that pretty much rules out using the vortecs since the special Scoggin-Dickey manifold you have to use with them runs about $400.
