Diamond in the rough!!!!!
I just came across the best deal of my life. Found a guy selling a 1988 GTA(350 TPI with only 38,000 original miles) He was hit in the passenger side door pretty hard last week. He let me take it to a shop to be checked out. And boy was i glad to hear them say no damage underneath!!! So it is basically just sheetmetal and glass that will need replaced. And a little paint of course. But the best part is i am only paying...........800 dollars for this car!!!!!!!! I could not believe him when he told me. I mean this car looks like it had to of been mint before the accident. He is selling so cheap because he is getting divorced and doesn't want the ex to have it in any way, shape or form. So i am the happiest guy alive(or at least i will be tonight when i go and get her)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i will post pics as soon as i can.

Sounds awesome! I got a deal like that this past December on a 91 1LE Z28 w/ 14,882 original miles w/ a boat load of performance mods including a fresh 355. He hit a steel construction plate in the road messing up the front suspension, insurance totaled it saying it had major frame damage. I bought it for $1500, had the engine cradle & lower control arms replaced for $1600, installed a new Tremec 5-speed and now have a 12-sec. 1LE for approx. $6000. & it's awesome!

damn. that is a great deal. I thought $4,200 for a 88 IROC in decent shape running 14's when i got it was a good deal, you guys both got me beat.
dang, don't tell me where that is, or I'll beat you to it, I'm home to PAlatine for the summer, and I'll jog there faster then you can drive, cash in hand!!!
Actually, I found my own "diamond," Guido's old daily driver Formula. Little surface rust, ugly Maui blue (apologies to the guys who like it, but I think it's kinda nasty), two tone with grey lower, but runs mid 14's, and I don't want to tell anyone the price, because it's not in my garage yet! I don't need to get messed out of this deal, though I doubt Guido would do that to me.
Doesn't everyone love our cheapo 3rdgens? =) It's almost a blessing that some people don't see the value as good as we do.
